This policy explains what personal information Homebuyer Ready collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email hello@crazyhouseprices.ie and you will get a straight answer.
Who is responsible
Homebuyer Ready is run by Crazy House Prices Ltd, a company based in Ireland. For data protection purposes Crazy House Prices Ltd is the data controller, which means it decides what is collected and what happens to it.

The short version
- Making an account means giving an email address, and agreeing to be emailed. That includes emails about the site and about paid membership.
- Running a property report means giving the address of a house you are interested in. That address is personal to you, because it says something about your plans, so it is treated carefully.
- Nothing is ever sold, rented, or handed to anyone else for their own marketing.
- Most things are kept for two years after your last activity, then deleted.
- You can get a copy of everything held about you, or have it deleted, by asking.
What is collected, and why
When you create an account
Your email address, your name if you give one, and a password which is stored scrambled and cannot be read by anyone, including Homebuyer Ready.
You may sign in with Google instead. In that case Google confirms your email address and name. Google does not share your password, and Homebuyer Ready never sees it.
Why: to give you an account, let you sign in, and email you. Legal basis: performing the agreement you enter into when you create the account.
When you run a property report
The address and Eircode of the property, and whatever else you choose to enter: asking price, number of bedrooms, property type, floor area, BER rating and BER number, condition, and any notes you add about comparable sales. If you upload a BER certificate, that document is stored too.
The finished report is saved to your account as a PDF so you can come back to it.
Why: producing the report is the service. Saving it is so you can find it again. Legal basis: performing the agreement.
A note on why this matters. A report names a house you are considering, what it is being sold for, what it may be worth, and the most you should pay. That is sensitive in the ordinary sense of the word, even though it is not a special category of data under the law. Report PDFs can only be opened by the account that created them. They are not public, not indexed by search engines, and not guessable from a web address.
When you use the property tracker
Scores you give properties, bids you record, viewing notes, and contact details you enter for estate agents or solicitors.
Why: it is a notebook for your own use. Legal basis: performing the agreement.
When you use the assistant
The questions you ask and the answers given are recorded, along with your account.
Why: to apply fair usage limits, and to find gaps where the assistant answers badly. Legal basis: performing the agreement, and a legitimate interest in the tool working properly.
When you send feedback
Your message, any screenshot you attach, the page you were on, and your screen size.
Why: to fix what is broken. Legal basis: legitimate interest in improving the service.
When you buy the ebook
Name, email and billing details. Card details are entered directly with Stripe and are never seen or stored by Homebuyer Ready.
Why: to take the payment, send the book, and keep the records the Revenue Commissioners require. Legal basis: performing the sale, and legal obligation for the tax records.
Technical information
Your IP address and the date and time are recorded when you agree to this policy at signup, as proof of what you agreed to. Ordinary web server logs also record IP addresses for security.
Creating an account means agreeing to be emailed by Homebuyer Ready. This covers:
- Emails about your own account and your own reports
- Updates about the website and new features
- Emails about paid membership, including offers
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email, or from your account page. Unsubscribing does not close your account, and you will still get essential emails about your own account and reports.
Email is sent using Brevo, which stores your email address in order to send it.
Who else sees your information
These are the companies used to run the service. Each one only receives what it needs.

Nothing is sold, rented, or shared for anyone else’s marketing.
Where your information is kept
Inside the European Economic Area, on servers in Ireland and Frankfurt.
Two exceptions are American companies with European operations: Google and Stripe. Both transfer some data to the United States under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Public information used in reports
Reports draw on public data: the Property Price Register, the Central Statistics Office, the SEAI register of BER ratings, planning authority records, and OpenStreetMap. That information is published by those bodies and is not collected from you.
How long things are kept
- Your account and everything in it: two years after your last sign-in, then deleted
- Reports and their PDFs: two years, or until you delete them
- Assistant conversations: two years
- Feedback: two years
- Records of what you agreed to at signup: as long as the account exists, plus two years
- Ebook purchase records: six years, because tax law requires it
- Web server logs: thirty days
Deleting your account deletes everything above except the purchase records, which have to be kept.
Your rights
Under the General Data Protection Regulation you can ask for:
- A copy of everything held about you
- Correction of anything wrong
- Deletion of your information
- A portable copy in a common file format
- Restriction, meaning it is kept but not used
- To object to anything relying on legitimate interest
- To withdraw agreement to marketing email, at any time

Cookies
homebuyerready.ie uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to keep the site secure. No advertising cookies, no tracking cookies, and no third-party cookies are set. Fonts are served from the site itself rather than from Google.
The ebook shop at book.homebuyerready.ie uses analytics, and asks permission before setting those cookies.
Children
Homebuyer Ready is meant for adults buying or building a home. Accounts are not knowingly created for anyone under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, account holders will be emailed. The date at the top always shows when it last changed.
